Co-Creating Ecosystems for Skilling, Innovation, and Civic Engagement with UNICEF YuWaah
Partner: UNICEF YuWaah |
2021 – Ongoing
Context
India has the world’s largest youth population, a powerhouse for social and economic transformation. UNICEF YuWaah (Generation Unlimited), launched in 2019, works to unlock this potential through skilling, career guidance, entrepreneurship, innovation, and civic participation. With 100+ million youth reached, YuWaah is a national movement that unites the government, private sector, civil society, and young people.
Since 2021, NCCDC has been a key partner—bringing its expertise in design, communication, knowledge products, and convening—to co-create an ecosystem where young people are not just participants, but leaders in development.
The Partnership
NCCDC and UNICEF YuWaah work hand-in-hand to build inclusive, future-ready youth ecosystems. More than a support role, NCCDC drives co-creation by:
- Designing knowledge products and tools that amplify youth aspirations and showcase scalable solutions.
- Leading communication campaigns and behaviour change strategies for flagship programmes like Passport to Earning (P2E), Meri LiFE, and FunDoo.
- Enabling multi-sectoral collaboration through dialogue platforms connecting ministries, private players, CSOs, and youth networks.
Through this partnership, NCCDC has supported YuWaah’s engagement with key ministries—MoE, MSDE, MoYAS, MWCD, MoEFCC, and MoLE—helping shape national priorities on education, employability, civic engagement and climate action.

YuWaah Day 2024: Youth Central
To celebrate YuWaah’s 5-year milestone, NCCDC co-created Youth Central on 7 November 2024—a vibrant gathering of 100+ youth leaders, government, civil society, and private sector champions. The event amplified youth voices on mental health, climate change, skilling, and entrepreneurship—showcasing our shared commitment to safe, inclusive, and meaningful youth participation.
Looking Ahead
This partnership is anchored in a simple belief: India’s future must be built with young people, not just for them. NCCDC remains proud to co-lead this journey with UNICEF YuWaah—shaping ecosystems that empower every young voice.
